Celebrate Juneteenth 2012 In Marin City!

Description:   The Marin City Community Development Corporation will be hosting Juneteenth 2012 on Saturday, June 23!
This event, which commemorates the ending of slavery in the United States, will recognize the significance of Juneteenth and celebrate by coming together in appreciation and commemoration of the achievements of African American history and culture.
It will be held on Saturday, June 23rd, and will feature the cultural and culinary delights from a variety of vendors and local artists.

Our celebration begins at 11:00am at First Missionary Baptist Church at 501 Drake Avenue in Marin City,where there will be a Program that recognizes the history of Juneteenth while featuring Gospel singing, praise dancing, poetry reading and a children’s Zydeco band!
At 12:00 Noon, our street fair festivities will begin in front of MCCDC's office at 441 Drake Avenue, Marin City and will continue until 6:00 PM.
